Web management and editing

  • Over 5 years, recruited, trained and managed successful and stable team of web quality assurance specialists in the UK, mainland Europe and India.
  • Managed quality assurance/subediting function, delivering against against KPIs and budgets on dozens of corporate website builds. Also oversaw preparation and timely go-live of company results. Clients included Prudential, Tesco, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, BP, EasyJet and many more.
  • Professionalised the planning, scheduling and workflow process at Investis: managed schedule to push numerous time-critical projects and site maintenance jobs through the pipeline; designed, built and administered a company-wide planning database; created project management and resource metrics systems.
  • Worked as lead Web Editor on key website and annual report builds for FTSE100 companies as well as leading European organisations such as RWE, Shell, Bulgari and UniCredit.

Marketing and PR

  • Managed PR for the world's biggest photography prize (The Citibank Private Bank Photography Prize). Recruited judges, wrote competition rules, managed entries, set up judges' meetings, organised exhibition and award ceremony, persuaded Lord Snowdon to present the trophy.
  • Managed promotion and media management for Tornado Insider of international high-tech conferences in Stockholm, Munich and London.
  • Took my singles company Single Living (www.single-living.com) online and set up very successful marketing and media relations programme (see Media appearances below).

  • As a singles expert, have appeared on numerous TV and radio programmes, including BBC One - News, Breakfast, Kilroy, Esther, Vanessa; BBC 5 Live - Mayo; BBC Radio 4 - Today, PM.
  • Former regular guest on phone-in programmes including Anna Raeburn's award-winning show on Talk Radio and 'Up All night' on Radio 5 Live.
  • Also featured and mentioning in hundreds of national newspaper and magazine articles, including the Times, Guardian, Independent, Mail, Mirror, Sun and London Evening Standard.

Book and magazine publishing

  • Key role in turning around failing book business at Marshall Cavendish. Hired and trained new editors and designers. Scrapped existing publishing plans and replaced with new programme that matched the company's profile and resources. Coached new sales and marketing team; created and introduced revolutionary new costing/profitability calculator.

  • Author and commissioning editor of a number of successful children's non-fiction titles.

  • Editor of IT Mag (men's lifestyle magazine) and Single Living Magazine (now Single Living E-zine); subeditor on BBC Parenting and BBC Music magazines.
